Backward to July 4th this year. I had lunch with SungWoo, and he introduced me to the Anthony Robbins lecture and tapes. Actually, he didn’t talk much about the guy. But seeing how much SW has grown made me curious about the process he has gone through.
So we went to the library, and SW helped me pick out the books. Yes, self-help books … I’m forever looking for ways to improve myself, in every which way possible. Not that I’m striving to be perfect. Far from it … but I always feel that there is different and maybe better ways to live my life …
Anyway, I decided to buy the book instead. I like to be able to highlight my book. Got the Awaken the Giant Within. Read it in 2 days. And I started to implement the Hour of Power the very next day. That was on July4th. I’ve skipped only one day, and that was because we partied till 2AM.
I look forward to my HOP actually. The first few mornings were hard. But once I ingrained in myself that doing my HOP is a pleasure and not a pain, then getting out of bed is easy. And I loooove breathing in the fresh air when I open the kitchen door, the feel of the grass, the clear sky with not one ounce of clouds, the birds chirping … hey, I saw 2 ugly birds mating this morning! I threw a rock and them, and spoiled their fun … hehe
During my morning walk, I run into the same people. The lady in sweats. The smooth smoking guy with the 2 dogs. The smoking asian guy wearing underwear to jog. uuurgh! Why do people try to be healthy by walking/jogging in the morning, and smoke at the same time. Can’t understand this! There’s also this guy who leaves the house on the left side of the street to go to the house on the right side of the street. How strange!
I have my morning routine. Listen to 4 upbeat songs. Then the meditation music. Or sometimes, no meditation music, just listen to the birds …The whole walk usualyy is 30 minutes. Then I stretch for about 5 minutes. Then wrap myself in my light blanket, and meditate on the front porch. I’m getting better with my meditation now. I can drown out the noises and wandering thoughts, and slip into my altered state after a few breaths. The white and warm light covering me. Very comforting and secure feeling.
