I realized that Tina will soon be going to college and on her own. These super easy recipes made with store-bought ingredients will get her through at least a couple of days. All she needs to do is dump the stuff in the pan, and stir the contents a few times.
These items were bought at Safeway:
in the Meat section:
in the Spices section:

in the Pasta section:
Directions:
Use a non-stick pan on high heat. Add the ground beef, break it up, and brown it. Add the sausage links. Continue cooking till the links change colors.
Add the Lawry’s Spices. Stir fry for 2 minutes. Add the spaghetti sauce. Mix well. Set to Low/Medium heat. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
Otional: Add 1/2 cup of red wine.
Use another pot for pasta. Boil water. Add 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp oil (olive oil preferable). I use 2/3 of the pasta from the box for a family of 4. Pasta should cook in about 10 minutes (check labels).
Pour pasta into a colander. Rinse with cold water to wash away the stickiness. Toss pasta with 2 tsp olive oil.
Serve with parmesan cheese!!!
To store:
- Store pasta in plastic bag.
- Store spaghetti sauce in plastic containers.
- Can be kept in fridge for 1 week.
Update Nov 4, 2009:
My friend ChiMai said it’s a no-no to rinse pasta.
