It was my first time eating at Claim Jumper. I didn’t know what to expect. The wait was 1 hour at 8pm on Saturday night. We got seated and they brought out water. Huge glasses, Hung said.
Then came a huge plate of Garlic Onion Rings. Hung reminded the waiter he placed half-an-order. Waiter confirmed that that was half of an order.
Then came the food. There should be a law prohibiting institutions to serve over a certain amount of food to people. It is ridiculous to serve 24oz of prime rib to any one individual. That is 1.5 lbs, almost a kilogram of meat! If someone can sue McDonald’s for serving hot coffee, and therefore burn her tongue, then it’s legit to sue Claim Jumper for serving too much food and therefore causing the arteries to burst.
Something isn’t right in this place. 75% of the customers must be 300 lbs and over. They walked past our table, like cows being hurdled on the fields. Both men and women waddled in and out of this place, consuming a tremendously and horrifyingly huge amount of food. The food being served there in one night can feed a whole country! America spends millions of dollars studying and finding measures to prevent obesity. Obesity is not always a medical disease, people! Why not just look at the eating patterns of our people? I go to Sweet Tomatoes a lot, and rarely see any obese people. Do you see a pattern here? Obesity is a disease of a lifestyle!
Yes, I was amazed. And am still shocked. We eat like there’s no end. Then we take diet pills to lose the weight we gained. Life is a circle, but this circle needs to be broken.
