is old. Not as old as me, but quite old for a car. I got it as a Xmas gift in 1995 right when the James Bond movie came out with Pierce Brosnan. To this day, it’s still the oldest Z3 I’ve seen on the road.
She’s the first Z3 edition, so she has the narrow hips and the 4-cylinder 1.9L engine. James Bond blue body but black top. Not powerful, but fun to drive.
The girl has gone through a top remake. About 8 years ago, Eric borrowed the car and came home with the plastic back slashed. Being El Cheapo, I didn’t want to spend any dough fixing it. SungWoo band-aided it with a bright yellow electricity tape. It kept the rain and the wind and the thieves out for about 2 years. Meanwhile, the car attracted attention and friends can tell me from far away because of the yellow tape. Until one day, the plastic back just turned brown and totally opaque. I had no choice but dish out 400 for that thing. 400 bucks for just the plastic thing!
The girl is ultra reliable. Even though she is the first Beemer manufactured in the States, she is of good quality. No callbacks, no engine problems, and her mileage is at consistently 28 miles per gallon. And she has about 250K on her now!
Eric never bothered himself with the car after the back window was slashed. Bad luck, he said. So it has been either Tina or I riding that horse. Lately, it has been just Tina, since I can’t drive stickshift after the stroke.
Take a peek:
Renault, perhaps?

Ooops, wished for, but wrong car.
Still wrong pix. But i dont have any pix of the real thing. You just have to hold your horses and wait now :).
