NorthFork Vipassana – Day4

Day 4. I lost track of the day of the week. I keep track of the day by counting the days I have left in this place. Weekday, weekend doesn’t matter. I’m so out of touch with real life. But tomorrow will be Day5! Yes! Half-way there (almost), half more to go ..

Day1 to Day3 were spent on cleansing our mind, meditating on the breadth, avoiding thoughts, feelings, emotions, complete silence to still the mind.  Think of it as drinking a cup of fresh tea. You first clean the teacup of all dirt and residue, then pour in the fresh tea.

We’ll be trained on Vipassana today. It’s supposed to be THE event. Vipassana is the meditation technique practiced by Buddha himself. The technique was lost for 2500 years, and recently discovered in Burma and brought back to India.

Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the beautiful surrounding. So calm, so peaceful. It has been raining the last 2 days. My heart bleeds laid in the night, listening to the rain trickling down the gutter and spattering on the ground. It felt like a blessing to finally see the sun shining through the thick dense grey clouds. Something about this bare place made me humble and determine to live gracefully, simply, and kindly amongst living things, nature, and humans.

Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha.
Peace, peace, peace.
Peace in my heart.
Peace to my loved ones.
Peace to the world.
